The highly-rated central midfielder almost joined Werder Bremen for €20m yesterday, but talks broke down.
Liverpool had not planned to loan out Grujic, but a player of his talent is deserving of regular game time.
As a result, the English champions accepted a loan offer from Porto, who have been busy on Portugal’s deadline day.
Like with Felipe Anderson and Malang Sarr, who joined from West Ham and Chelsea respectively today, Porto will not have an option to buy Grujic.
24-year-old Grujic spent the last two seasons on loan at Hertha, making a big impression at the Bundesliga side.
The Serbian international can now look forward to Champions League football with Porto, who were drawn with Manchester City, Olympiacos and Marseille in Group C.
