West Ham’s search for a central defender has come up short, but they could move for Watford’s Craig Dawson in the extended window which allows Premier League and EFL clubs to do deals.
23:11 – After links to a number of European clubs including Roma, Talleres forward Nahuel Bustos has joined the Manchester City group for €6.5m.
The promising 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract and will go on loan to Girona.
23:10 – Everton have completed the signing of Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen on a season-long loan from Roma.

Atletico Madrid have confirmed the sale of Thomas Partey to Arsenal after the English club paid his €50m release clause.
At the same time, Atleti have signed Lucas Torreira on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the season.
22:45 – Felipe Anderson will leave West Ham for FC Porto on loan tomorrow, talkSPORT reports.
Porto will not be signing Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar though, despite holding talks.
22:42 – Following up on the earlier news, Nice have now agreed a deal to sign Jeff Reine-Adelaide on loan from Lyon.
Nice will have the chance to make Reine-Adelaide’s move permanent at the end of the season for €25m.
22:31 – Fulham have confirmed the acquisition of centre-back Joachim Andersen on loan from Lyon for the season.
The Cottagers have also signed Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea.
22:30 – Leeds have completed the signing of Raphinha from Rennes on a four-year contract.
They are paying £17m plus add-ons for the talented winger.
22:27 – Fourteen years after leaving the club for Arsenal, Theo Walcott has returned to Southampton.

22:14 – Eric Garcia will NOT be joining Barcelona from Man City tonight, RAC1 claims. Barca went up to €18m, but City would not budge on their €20m valuation.
22:12 – West Ham have failed in a bid to sign Mohamed Simakan from Strasbourg.
AC Milan also tried to sign him earlier in the day with no success.
22:11 – Rangers have signed South African international Bongani Zungu on a season-long loan deal from French side Amiens.

21:50 – Nice are attempting a very late deal for Lyon’s Jeff Reine-Adelaide, according to Telefoot.
Reine-Adelaide rejected a €27m move to Hertha in Germany, but could have a new option before the window shuts…
21:48 – Another outgoing at Southampton tonight as Sofiane Boufal has returned to his boyhood club Angers.
The Morocco winger was the Saints’ club-record buy in 2016, but is back in France.
Boufal has joined Angers on a free transfer but Southampton will receive a percentage of any future sale.
21:38 – One of Benfica’s greatest talents, Tiago Dantas, is on his way to Bayern Munich according to Record.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been playing for Benfica B and will reportedly join Bayern on loan, starting out in their second team.
21:29 – Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is undergoing a medical ahead of a loan move to Fulham.
21:27 – Celtic have completed the signing of Diego Laxalt from AC Milan on loan until the end of the season.
21:25 – Manchester United have confirmed the signing of 18-year-old Atalanta winger Amad Traore in a deal worth up to €40m.
The highly-rated youngster will join up with the Red Devils in January.
21:09 – It’s now official: Barcelona will not be signing Memphis Depay and have relayed that information to Lyon.
21:08 – Timo Baumgartl from PSV to Fulham is OFF.
The defender reportedly passed his medical this morning, but the situation has changed. Baumgartl did not believe he would get enough game time at Craven Cottage.
Fulham are still bringing in Joachim Andersen from Lyon and are also signing Tosin Adarabioyo from Man City for £8m.
20:54 – A big signing for Rennes tonight as they have confirmed the capture of Jeremy Doku from Anderlecht.
The 18-year-old striker is one of Belgium’s great talents and has already made his national team debut.
Rennes are believed to be paying around €27m for Doku, who has penned a five-year contract.
20:50 – A follow-up on the Rafinha to PSG story with journalist Ferran Martinez confirming an agreement has been reached.
Rafinha will join the French team from Barcelona at no initial cost, but €3m in variables and a 35% sell-on clause.
He is en route to Paris to complete his move.
20:49 – Saint-Etienne have signed Panagiotis Retsos on loan from Bayer Leverkusen with a €6.5m option to buy next summer.
The Greek defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield United, but didn’t appear in the Premier League.
20:47 – Wesley Hoedt has returned to Lazio, joining the Rome club from Southampton on a loan deal for the season.
26-year-old Hoedt played for Lazio between 2015 and 2017 before his €17m move to the Saints.

20:37 – Barcelona’s failure to sell Ousmane Dembele means Memphis Depay will not be joining the club.
Ronald Koeman said earlier today that he wanted Depay, 26, but it depended on outgoings.
20:31 – Chris Smalling’s move to Roma was completed with just a minute to spare as the Italian deadline hit.
There were doubts about if Roma had submitted the proper documentation on time, but it is now a confirmed done deal.
Roma are paying €15m plus €5m for the centre-back.
20:09 – Bad news for Barcelona fans with their bid for Eric Garcia deemed not good enough by Manchester City, according to Cadena SER.
Barca did improve their offer, but failed to meet City’s asking price of €20m.
Garcia, who is out of contract next June, now looks set to stay at City unless of a late twist.
19:45 – Ousmane Dembele to Manchester United is now confirmed as being off by a number of reputable journalists.
19:10 – Benfica have agreed a deal with Barcelona for young centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo.
Todibo, 20, is poised to join the Lisbon club on a €2m loan with an option to buy for €20m.
However, Todibo’s move may depend on whether Barca can get the Eric Garcia deal over the line.
19:07 – Sassuolo have signed talented Marseille attacker Maxime Lopez on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.
18:59 – Fiorentina have moved quickly to replace Federico Chiesa by signing Jose Callejon.
The Spaniard left Napoli in the summer and had been expected to return to Spain, but will instead be moving from Naples to Florence.

The 28-year-old was tipped to return to former loan side Fiorentina, but will play for Besiktas.

He has been linked with Man United all day long, but it appears that track may end the same way as with Sancho.

The Parisians said earlier that their transfer business was done unless a special opportunity arose.
Rafinha has a €16m release clause, but PSG are trying to lower the price.
18:20 – On, off, on, off… on! Chris Smalling’s move back to Roma appears to be happening with less than an hour remaining before Italy’s transfer window shuts.

17:56 – Southampton have let Guido Carrillo join Spanish side Elche on a free transfer.
The Saints paid almost £20m to sign the striker from Monaco and it’s safe to say, he flopped badly.
17:43 – Everton are trying to get a goalkeeper through the door after some unconvincing performances by Jordan Pickford.
And according to Di Marzio, the two main options are Roma’s Robin Olsen and Sergio Aguero of Manchester United.
Swedish stopper Olsen is currently the most likely of the two to join Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
17:33 – A big deadline day signing for Hertha, who have brought in Matteo Guendouzi on loan from Arsenal for the season.
17:32 – Milot Rashica was expected to leave Werder Bremen this summer, but will be sticking around.
After a move to Aston Villa didn’t pan out, a late attempt by Bayer Leverkusen to sign him also failed.

16:52 – Karim Rekik’s move from Hertha to Sevilla is now official.
The former Manchester City talent has inked a five-year deal with Julen Lopetegui’s side.
16:50 – Nikola Kalinic is undergoing a medical at Hellas Verona ahead of a move from Atletico Madrid.
The 32-year-old, who was on loan at Roma last season, was close to Besiktas this summer but will stay in Italy.
He will sign a two-year contract, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
16:45 – One of the big deals of deadline day is now official. Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa has joined Juventus on a two-year loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy.
The total operation for 22-year-old Chiesa could cost €50m.
16:43 – Both Rekik brothers are on their way out of Hertha today.
Karim Rekik is due to be announced by Sevilla and his younger brother Omar is about to join Arsenal for €1m.

16:28 – Sead Kolasinac’s proposed return to Germany with Bayer Leverkusen is very unlikely to happen, Kicker reports.
As a result, Wendell, who was linked with a move to Hertha, will stay at Bayer.
16:14 – Stephan El Shaarawy’s proposed return to Roma is now off, with too little time remaining to finalise it.
Roma had been waiting for Diego Perotti to complete a move to Fenerbahce, but that deal has taken longer than expected.
El Shaarawy now seems likely to remain with Shanghai Shenhua unless something else can be sorted.

15:02 – Kwadwo Asamoah’s agent has arrived at Inter’s headquarters in recent minutes.
The Ghanaian left-sider is about to rescind his contract, making him a free agent.
Sampdoria are believed to have an interest in the 31-year-old former Juventus man.

14:46 – Saint-Etienne are making an attempt to get William Saliba back on loan from Arsenal.
Arsenal signed Saliba from ASSE last year then immediately loaned him back.
After selling Wesley Fofana to Leicester, the French side are trying to re-sign Saliba.
14:38 – He was supposed to be joining Manchester United, but Partizan wonderkid Filip Stevanovic could be heading to their neighbours instead.
Mozzart Sport claims Manchester City are in contract with Partizan have have made a formal €8m bid for the 18-year-old winger.

14:37 – Olympiacos have signed former RB Leipzig winger Bruma on loan from PSV Eindhoven.
PSV paid €12.5m for Bruma last summer, but he failed to impress in his first year at the club.

14:21 – In a desperate last ditch attempt to sign Chris Smalling, Roma have offered €15m plus bonuses.
Sky Italia reports that if the bid fails, Roma will finally give up on last season’s loan star.
Their alternatives are Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea), Toby Alderweireld (Spurs) and Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Arsenal). Any of the three would arrive on loan.
14:14 – Man United full-back Brandon Williams has been subject to interest from Southampton in recent days.
But he is set to remain with his boyhood club this season.

Rudy, 30, played for TSG between 2010 and 2017 before joining Bayern Munich.
13:21 – Udinese are set for a big deadline day signing, with Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu on his way.
The 26-year-old had been linked with Fiorentina as a Chiesa replacement, but Jose Callejon is their chosen one.
13:11 – Arkadiuz Milik has turned down a move to Fiorentina, according to Sportitalia.
Fiorentina agreed a loan deal with Roma during the night which included a €24m purchase clause.
But the Polish striker, who is out of contract next year, has refused the move.

Cyprien has been hampered by injuries but scored seven goals in 19 league appearances last season.

12:01 – Roma have been trying to get Chris Smalling back from Manchester United all summer – and his future remains a topic on deadline day.
After reports that an agreement was finally close, the BBC is now saying that Smalling to Roma is now ‘unlikely’.

11:18 – Barcelona are negotiating a loan move for Juan Miranda to Real Betis, per Gerard Romero.
Miranda spent last season on loan at Schalke. He began his career at Betis before moving to Barca.
11:06 – Big news from France with ‘tier 1’ journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC Sport revealing that Ousmane Dembele will NOT be leaving Barcelona today.
Dembele has been tipped to join Man United as an alternative to Jadon Sancho.

Juventus are NOT interested in signing Emerson Palmieri though, says the ever reliable Romeo Agresti.
