Bayern bring in Choupo-Moting as Lewandowski backup

Bayern Munich are signing experienced forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on a free transfer.

Kicker reveals that a deal is done for the 31-year-old, who left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

Choupo-Moting will provide backup for star striker Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena.

German-born Choupo-Moting played for Hamburg, FC Nurnberg, Mainz and Schalke before moving to Stoke City in 2017.

He was a surprise signing by PSG in August 2018 and went on to make 51 appearances for the French giants.

His arrival opens the door for promising Bayern forward Joshua Zirkzee, 19, to head out on loan.

The Bavarians are also signing Marc Roca from Espanyol in a €15m deal (€9m plus €6m in bonuses).
