Valencia in talks for Juan Foyth and Daniele Rugani

With eight days of the Spanish transfer window left, Valencia are desperate to strengthen their squad after some high profile departures.

One position Javi Gracia wants to upgrade is the centre of defence and the Mestalla club have stepped up their search.

According to Cadena COPE, two names are in pole position to join Los CheJuan Foyth (Tottenham) and Daniele Rugani (Juventus).

Valencia have spoken to the agents of the two players and both would be happy to join.

The Spanish club are now talking to Spurs and Juve and are asking for loans without an obligation to buy.

Rugani’s salary is high, but the Italian international would be willing to make an effort if it means game time.

The 26-year-old is a bit-part player at Juventus and wants to push for a place in Italy’s Euros squad.

English side West Ham are also said to be keen on a deal for Rugani.

Meanwhile, Foyth has an affordable salary but Tottenham would demand a significant fee for him.

Foyth, 22, is also reportedly a target for Villarreal after struggling for game time at Spurs.
