Tanzania striker Mbwana Samatta has left Aston Villa for Fenerbahce after just half a season.
Fenerbahce will initially take Samatta on a one-year loan, but must purchase him for €6m next summer.
Samatta, 27, was the first Tanzanian to play in the Premier League when Villa signed him from Genk in January.
But he was able to find the net just once in 14 league appearances for Dean Smith’s side.
And having brought in Ollie Watkins for a club-record fee as well as Bertrand Traore from Lyon, Villa have let Samatta go.
“I know how big a club Fenerbahce is,” Samatta said.
“I am happy to be here in such a family because it will be a new and big challenge for me.
“Fenerbahce has a lot of supporters and they always want to win. I also want to win. I came with this request, I am very happy and I hope we will win many trophies.”
