PAOK will not have the option to make Wague’s stay permanent at the end of the campaign.
Senegal international Wague joined Barca from Belgian side Eupen in 2018, with the Catalan club paying €5m.
He initially played for Barcelona B, but was promoted to the first team for the 2019-20 season.
However, game time was hard to come by, with Wague making just three appearances.
In search of minutes, Wague was loaned to French club Nice in January of this year.
Nice returned Wague to Barca when the French season was cut short, deciding not to use their €15m option to buy.
Wague will have the chance to play Champions League football, though for how long depends on PAOK’s next result.
The Greeks scored a huge upset win over Benfica in the 3rd qualifying round, but must next overcome Krasnodar to reach the group stage.
Wague’s season-long loan move to PAOK has now been confirmed by Barcelona.
There is no option to buy and PAOK will pay the player’s full salary.
