Arsenal close to €1.5m deal for Dijon keeper Runarsson

Arsenal are poised to sign Icelandic international goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson from Dijon.

Following up on reports from England, DV in the player’s homeland confirms the news from their own sources.

Runarsson, 25, reportedly underwent his Arsenal medical on Monday ahead of a €1.5m move.

He will sign a five-year contract with the English club.

It was reported in May that Runarsson had plans to leave Dijon after losing his place to Alfred Gomis.

Runarsson will be second-choice at Arsenal behind Bernd Leno, but could feature in cup competitions.

Arsenal are selling Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa and Runarsson will replace him.

Runarsson joined Dijon from Nordsjaelland two years ago and has made 45 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
