According to Gianluca Di Marzio, 26-year-old Milik has performed a U-turn about leaving the Naples club.
He has told sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli to take him off the market, which hasn’t been well received.
Milik is out of contract next summer and Napoli risk losing him for free if they don’t sell him now.
Napoli head coach Rino Gattuso has been planning for life without Milik and made the situation clear today.
Gattuso said: “If Arek doesn’t find another club, then it won’t be an easy situation for him, because we have already signed another two forwards. There’s no room for him.”
The Naples club have been demanding €35m, which no club wants to pay given Milik’s contract situation.
Today’s developments could lead to Napoli dropping their asking price to try and push Milik towards the exit.
Milik has been prolific in the past two years for Napoli, scoring 14 goals last season and 20 the year before.
