Steve Mounié joins Brest from Huddersfield for €5m

Steve Mounié has returned to France after completing a €5m move from Huddersfield Town to Brest.

The Benin forward has signed a four-year contract with Les Pirates and will wear the number 15 shirt.

25-year-old Mounié joined Huddersfield for a club-record €13m (£11.5m) following their promotion to the Premier League in 2017.

In three seasons with the Terriers, the last of them in the Championship, Mounié scored 19 goals in 95 appearances.

Mounié played for Montpellier before moving to England, bagging an impressive league 14 goals in his last season with the club.

Brest will hope Mounié can help them better last season’s performance which saw them finish 14th in Ligue 1.
