The 24-year-old Kosovo international has been holding out for a move to RB Leipzig, who are interested in him.
However, Leipzig have been unable to agree a fee, offering €15m – less than the €25m that Bremen want.
A move to Die Roten Bullen now appears highly unlikely and Rashica has to consider other options.
According to DeichStube, Rashica is now more open to joining Villa who have been given renewed hope of signing him.
Napoli could rival Villa
Rashica knows that he could earn more than his current €2m-per-year salary at Villa and promote himself for a bigger move down the line.
Villa are willing to meet Werder’s €25m asking price and personal terms would not be a problem.
However, Serie A club Napoli are also showing ‘concrete interest’ and could offer Europa League football.
Werder have suffered a financial hit from the Coronavirus pandemic and urgently need the transfer fee from Rashica.
Rashica finished last season with 11 goals and eight assists in all competitions for Werder.
