The 18-year-old has been coveted by the likes of Manchester City and Juventus in recent months.
But he will continue his career with Julian Nagelsmann’s Leipzig after a falling out with his boyhood side Hertha.
Samardzic, who scored 14 goals in 16 games for Hertha’s under-19s last season, has agreed a five-year deal with Leipzig.
The German youth international shocked Hertha when he demanded more game time after making his first team debut in May.
According to head coach Bruno Labaddia, Samardzic was very blunt with his demands.
Increasingly annoyed by the youngster’s attitude, Hertha removed him from first-team training so that he could clarify his future.
