Official: PSV sign Augsburg left-back Philipp Max for €8m

PSV Eindhoven have announced the capture of FC Augsburg left-back Philipp Max.

Max, 26, has signed a four-year deal and joins the Dutch giants for an €8m fee.

The productive full-back has spent the past five years at Augsburg but has been seeking a new challenge.

In his first interview as a PSV player, the former Germany under-21 international made his ambitions clear.

“PSV have kept a close eye on me for some time and were keen to sign me,” said Max. “I talked a couple of times with head coach Roger Schmidt.

“PSV’s style of football really appeals to me and I like PSV. They want to win trophies and so do I. I just like the big picture and can’t wait to get started.”
