Vidal, 33, is one of the players Barca want to offload this summer and Antonio Conte knows the midfielder well.
The player’s agents have contacted Barcelona to reach an agreement for his Camp Nou exit.
Despite suggestions that Vidal will be allowed to leave for free, that is not the case according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Barca are in a hurry to lighten their squad and will not make Inter pay Vidal’s €20m release clause.
However, the Catalan club want a fee for Vidal, who spent four successful years with Juventus from 2011 until 2015.
Vidal arrived at Barca from Bayern Munich for €18m plus bonuses two years ago.
He is among a select group of players who have won the Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga titles.
Having cooled his interest in AC Milan-bound Sandro Tonali, Vidal is now a priority target for Conte.
