Valencia ask about Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi

Valencia have been in touch with Arsenal about the availability of Matteo GuendouziSuperdeporte reports.

Guendouzi is out of favour at the Emirates and Arsenal want to sell or use him in a swap deal.

However, given their financial state, the best Valencia can offer for Guendouzi is a loan without the obligation to buy.

The midfielder, who was called up by France to replace Paul Pogba before the pandemic, wants to join a club where he would get game time.

Valencia, who have suffered an exodus of talent this summer, could offer the 21-year-old an important role.

The Mestalla club missed out on Yangel Herrera, who has returned to Granada on loan from Manchester City.

Valencia are also in talks with Watford about a loan deal for another French midfielder, Etienne Capoue.
