James Rodriguez misses Madrid training to finalise Everton move

James Rodriguez was not present at Real Madrid training today as he closes in on a move to Everton.

According to Arancha Rodríguez of Cadena COPE, James was given permission to skip training by Madrid.

The Colombian playmaker is finalising a move to Everton where he will reunite with Carlo Ancelotti.

Everton will reportedly pay €25m plus bonuses for Rodriguez, 29, whose exit will take Madrid’s income from sales to €83.5m this summer.

Rodriguez has been desperate to leave Madrid after falling out of favour under Zinedine Zidane.

Bayern Munich took Rodriguez on loan for two seasons but did not use their option to buy him.

Instead, his future is in the Premier League, a competition James will finally experience after years of rumours.

The former FC Porto star has made 125 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 37 and assisting 42 goals.
