Ex-Chelsea & Marseille forward Loic Remy joins Rizespor

Former French international Loic Remy has found a new club in Turkey after joining Caykur Rizespor.

The 33-year-old, who quit Lille at the end of his contract, had planned on joining newly-promoted Serie A side Benevento.

However, he failed his medical tests at the Italian club, causing the deal to collapse.

Rizespor have come to the rescue, signing former Marseille and Chelsea striker Remy on a two-year deal.

The Turks have an option to extend Remy’s deal by an extra year should they choose.

Rizespor finished 15th in the 2019-20 Turkish Süper Lig, just above the relegation zone (although there were no relegations due to the Coronavirus).
