The English club’s majority owner Andrea Radrizzani and sporting director Victor Orba have flown to Valencia to try and close the deal.
Throughout the day they will meet with the president of Valencia, Anil Murthy, to thrash out terms.
At the moment there are differences in valuation of Rodrigo, 29, but the deal could reach €40m.
Now the Mestalla club know that this is the last chance to get a good fee for Rodrigo, hence the €40m valuation.
The well-informed Hector Gomez adds that the super-agent Jorge Mendes has been directing negotiations.
Javi Gracia, Valencia’s head coach, knows Rodrigo is leaving and the player has been training separately from the main group.
Leeds and Valencia have now reached an agreement according to multiple sources.
The English club will pay €30m plus a further €10m in variables.
