Valencia had been favourites to land Reina after the disastrous performances of €35m keeper Jasper Cillesen.
However, the Spanish club have failed to sell Cillesen and Reina has become tired of waiting.
A number of Serie A clubs wanted Reina, a goalkeeper of proven quality, but he has said ‘yes’ to Lazio.
The Rome club hope to have Reina’s signature at the beginning of the week.
