According to Gianluca Di Marzio, only signatures are missing from making Linetty’s move to Torino official.
Torino will pay €7.5m to Sampdoria for Linetty plus €1.5m in future bonuses.
Sampdoria are happy with the sale as they believe this is the maximum amount of money they could get for Linetty.
The 25-year-old was also considered by Fiorentina, but his future is in Turin with Marco Giampaolo’s team.
Giampaolo coached Linetty while in charge of Torino between 2016 and 2019, and the signing is by his request.
Other names on Giampaolo’s wishlist are Patrik Schick (Roma), Joachim Andersen (Lyon) and Nicola Murru (Sampdoria).
Linetty’s transfer to Torino has now been confirmed by both clubs.
The midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Turin side.
