The 25-year-old is reportedly close to joining Wolves after two seasons on loan at Braga.
But the word from Portugal is that CSKA are making a serious push for Palhinha.
The Russian recently had a €10m offer turned down by Sporting, but club officials are in Lisbon to follow up.
According to A BOLA, they will present a new offer closer to €12m which they believe could be accepted.
Sporting have put a €15m asking price on Palhinha, but could accept CSKA’s offer as they look to balance the books.
Six priority targets have already been signed by Sporting: Antonio Adan, Pedro Porro, Zouhair Feddal, Vitorino Antunes, Pedro Goncalves and Nuno Santos (to be announced shortly).
As a result, their focus is now on selling players before adding any further names to their squad.
And Palhinha will be one of those sales, with the question now will he be moving to England or Russia.
