Man Utd make late move for Arsenal & Napoli target Gabriel

Manchester United are making a late effort to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Brazilian is in hot demand but as of last night was reportedly choosing between Arsenal and Napoli.

However, 22-year-old Gabriel has still not decided and United’s arrival in the fray gives him more food for thought.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a well documented interest in Gabriel, but United had not insisted like Arsenal and Napoli.

Di Marzio states that Arsenal remain favourites to sign Gabriel even though Napoli are trying their best to change that.

Napoli have been asking Gabriel, a target of theirs for months, for time while they negotiate the sale of Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester City.

Lille have accepted identical offers from both Arsenal and Napoli of €26m plus €4m in bonuses.

Gabriel should finally make his decision within the next 48 hours, ending a transfer soap opera.
