Valencia trying to hijack Lazio deal for David Silva

Valencia have offered David Silva a three-year contract with a €2m-per-season salary, Plaza Deportiva reports.

Silva, 34, has been expected to join Lazio with his Manchester City career coming to an end after a decade.

But the Italians have bemused in recent days with no contact from Silva’s camp, putting the deal in doubt.

The Spanish maestro is thought to be considering his future, and a return to Valencia has emerged as an option.

Silva could be tempted by Valencia for personal reasons, as it would allow him to be closer to his loved ones.

With club owner Peter Lim under fire, bringing back David Silva would be a very popular move.

Silva joined Valencia when he was 14 and was with the club until his move to England in June 2010.

He made 166 appearances for Los Che before joining City, where he became a club legend.
