TV2: Alexander Sorloth in advanced talks to join RB Leipzig

Norway striker Alexander Sorloth is in advanced talks with RB Leipzig, according to TV2.

Sorloth, 24, has spent the season on loan at Trabzonspor from Crystal Palace, where he has been a huge success.

He was the Turkish league’s top scorer in the 2019-20 season with 24 goals in 34 matches.

Trabzonspor have an option to buy Sorloth from Palace for €6m, which they will presumably use.

They can then sell him on to Leipzig, who view Sorloth as a fitting replacement for Timo Werner.

Sorloth has reportedly met with representatives from Leipzig to discuss a transfer.

If the move goes ahead, it will mean Norway’s star strikers, Sorloth and Erling Braut Haaland (Borussia Dortmund), will be playing at top Bundesliga clubs.
