Official: Kamil Glik joins Benevento from Monaco

Benevento have completed the signing of centre-back Kamil Glik from Monaco.

Glik, 32, returns to Serie A after becoming a club icon at Torino before his €11m move to Monaco in 2017.

The 73-time Poland international will give newly-promoted Benevento some valuable experience.

Glik made 167 appearances and scored 16 goals in the red and white of Monaco.

Benevento are reported to have paid around €3m for Glik, who has signed a three-year deal.

The Campanian club, coached by Filippo “Pippo” Inzaghi, are working on more deals to strengthen the side.

A move for Parma winger Gervinho is still on the cards and they hope to persuade Giacomo Bonaventura to join them after he left AC Milan.

A proposed move for French striker Loic Remy collapsed after he failed medical tests.
