Di Marzio: David Silva closer to joining Lazio

Lazio are increasingly confident of winning the race for Spanish legend David Silva, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Silva, 34, will officially leave Manchester City when their Champions League run is over.

And the World Cup winner is wanted by clubs in Spain, the USA, and Middle East.

But he may continue to wear a sky blue shirt with Lazio, who have made an appealing offer.

Di Marzio reports a deal that seemed difficult to achieve just days ago is now getting closer.

Silva is open to the idea of moving to Rome, where he would continue to play in the Champions League.

Negotiations continue with ‘positive signals’ arriving and with them growing confidence that the Biancocelesti can sign Silva.

Silva’s arrival could give Lazio the extra quality they need to sustain a Serie A title challenge next year.

‘El Mago’ has made 434 appearances for Man City since joining from Valencia, scoring 77 and assisting 140 goals.
