One of Croatia’s best young talents, 22-year-old Brekalo scored seven and assisted seven goals this season.
And his excellent form has led to a big money offer arriving from Serie A club Fiorentina.
But even €20m is not enough with Wolfsburg valuing Brekalo at €25m and asking the Viola to pay more.
If they sell Brekalo, Wolfsburg plan to set aside €17m for a new striker and when factoring in his salary, €20m would give them no profit.
As a result, talks are continuing between Wolfsburg and Fiorentina over a fee.
Wolfsburg invested €10m in Brekalo when he was only 17 and it has proven to be money well spent.
After two seasons on loan at VfB Stuttgart, the talented left winger has become a regular in the Wolfsburg team.
In total, Brekalo has made 86 appearances for Die Wölfe and has also won 11 caps for Croatia since 2018.
