Jerome Boateng ‘wouldn’t say no’ to England return

Bayern Munich and Germany defender Jerome Boateng has opened the door to a Premier League return.

Boateng, 31, played for Manchester City in the 2010-11 season before joining FC Bayern.

His spell in Manchester was hampered by injuries and Roberto Mancini playing him in a right-back role.

Almost a decade later, the World Cup winner is not against a return to England.

“I wouldn’t say no,” Boateng told China’s CGTN Sports when asked about the possibility.

“I love watching the Premier League and I loved playing there. It helped me a lot to train with world class players.

“I don’t know what will happen next. You never know but it’s not like I would say that I don’t want to play there. It’s definitely one of my favourite leagues.”

Boateng’s future is not certain with recent reports claiming he has been offered to PSG.

And if he does move on, then English clubs will have taken notice of his latest comments.
