Liverpool have made a bid of €10m (£9m) for Real Betis centre-back Aissa Mandi, according to Cadena COPE.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed a fine season for Betis and could be the second defender leaving the club.
COPE states that Mandi is on the ‘exit ramp’ along with Zouhair Feddal, who has been in advanced talks with Sporting CP.
Mandi has a €30m release clause, but Liverpool are offering just one third of that.
The defender has one year left on his contract and a renewal is ‘far from taking place’.
As a result, Premier League champions Liverpool could sign Mandi in a cut-price deal.
Liverpool are looking for a new defender after Dejan Lovren joined Zenit, with Schalke talent Ozan Kabak also on their shortlist.
Mandi made 29 appearances in La Liga this season and has also been on Lyon’s radar.
