Official: Man City sign Burkina Faso full-back Issa Kaboré

Manchester City have signed promising right-back Issa Kaboré from KV Mechelen and loaned him straight back.

19-year-old Kaboré joined Mechelen from Rahimo FC in his native Burkina Faso last year.

He made five appearances in the Jupiler Pro League in his first term, but that was enough to convince City’s scouts.

Kaboré has already been capped twice at senior level by Burkina Faso.

“This is a win-win situation for all parties,” Mechelen’s sporting director Tom Caluwé said. “The player himself dreams of the Premier League and can calmly prepare for that step with us.

“City have a clear path in mind and indicated that our club is important for Kaboré’s future development.”

The clubs did not disclose contract details or a transfer fee for teenager Kaboré.
