Spartak centre-back Samuel Gigot wants Lyon move

Spartak Moscow defender Samuel Gigot has told the club that he wants to join Lyon, according to Sport Express.

Gigot, 26, is one of a number of central defenders OL have been looking at to strengthen the backline.

And their interest is mutual, with Gigot making a return to his homeland with Lyon a priority.

The centre-back’s family live in Lyon, which is why he prefers to join them over two other suitors – Marseille and Lille.

Spartak have responded to Gigot’s transfer request by putting a €18-20m price-tag on his head.

Gigot joined Spartak from Belgian club Gent in 2018 and has made 44 official appearances, scoring give times.

He is under contract with the Muscovites until the summer of 2022.
