Almada, 19, is one of the most exciting young talents in South America and a move to Europe is inevitable.
Joining Leeds could appeal to Almada since it would give him with a better chance of regular first team football.
The Argentine under-20 international acknowledged that he would like to be coached by Marcelo Bielsa.
“I would like to be led (coached) by Bielsa,” Almada told TyC Sports.
He has also gotten a glimpse of Championship winners Leeds in action and their style was familiar to him.
He added: “I don’t watch much football, but I watched some Leeds and saw something similar to what we did at Velez with (Gabriel) Heinze.”
Almada has a €25m release clause but Velez may consider offers below that, depending on the level of interest.
The teenage playmaker has already made 46 first team appearances for Velez, scoring nine and assisting four goals.
