City were in talks with Zakaria and his management prior to UEFA’s decision to ban City from the Champions League.
The ban has now been overturned and City are not on the leash they thought they might be.
Pep Guardiola and City’s sporting director Txiki Begiristain are admirers of the dynamic Zakaria.
And according to BILD on Sunday, Gladbach have set a ‘pain limit’ of €50m for Zakaria.
Essentially that means if a club offers €50m they will start considering a sale.
The Bundesliga club have a strong wish to keep Zakaria and their other star players at BORUSSIA-PARK.
But chief Max Ebert has always emphasized that a club like Gladbach have to deal with ‘immoral’ transfer fees.
And armed with a huge transfer kitty, City could well decide to make an ‘immoral’ offer for the highly-rated Zakaria.
