KBS: Spurs close to €17m deal for South Korea’s Kim Min-jae

Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing South Korea centre-back Kim Min-jae from Beijing Guoan, according to KBS.

The 23-year-old, nicknamed ‘Monster’ due to his size (6’3″ / 1.9m) is a strong defender well suited to the Premier League

And reports from Korea claim that Jose Mourinho is close to bringing in Kim from the Chinese Super League.

Both clubs are ‘positive’ about a deal going through with a transfer fee of €17m under discussion.

Kim is one of Asia’s best defenders and would be a replacement for Jan Vertonghen who is leaving Spurs.

If he does move to North London he will link up with his South Korea teammate Son Heung-min.

Kim joined Beijing Guoan from Jeonbuk Motors in January 2019 and has made 34 appearances for the CSL side.
