The Coronavirus forcing an early end to the Eredivisie meant he made only six appearances for the Dutch side.
His future appears to lie away from Milan, where he played only five times this season before his PSV switch.
Rodriguez made his name playing for Wolfsburg between 2012 and 2017, becoming one of the Bundesliga’s best full-backs.
His performances for Wolfsburg led to Milan paying €15m to sign him in 2017 and for two seasons he was a regular for the Italians.
With Rodriguez out of contract next year and Milan eager to sell him, he is available for just €3m.
