The speculation came via Turkish journalist Mehmet Demirkol who told beIN SPORTS he had heard Kabak was Spurs-bound.
“He has developed into a great centre-back. And I heard that he’s on his way to Tottenham this season,” said Demirkol.
Sky Sport in Germany has debunked the story, stating that there is ‘not much’ to the rumour.
Unless of an obscene offer, Schalke do not plan to sell Kabak, 21, before the summer of 2021.
Next year, a release clause of €40m to €45m will set in for Kabak and he could be sold then.
The Turkish international is under contract with Schalke until 2024, but the club’s sporting and financial situation makes it likely he will leave before then.
