The 35-year-old has never played professionally in his homeland after leaving for Swiss club Chiasso in 2003.
But that could be about to change, with Botafogo, Athletico Paranaense and Ceara in contact with Raffael’s agent.
When contacted, the player’s representative confirmed the interest from the Brasileiro clubs.
“That’s right, but I don’t want to say any more about it,” he said.
Raffael would like to continue playing in Germany or elsewhere in Europe, but now has options in Brazil.
In an interview with SPORT BILD, Raffael said: “I feel in top shape and would like to play for a few more years.”
The forward spent seven seasons at Gladbach, scoring 71 goals and delivering 35 assists in 201 appearances.
