Lyon will receive €12m up-front with a further €3m to follow in bonuses. They will also earn 15 per cent of any profit on Terrier’s next transfer.
Terrier moved to Lyon from Lille for €11m in January 2018 and went on to make 77 appearances.
Having qualified for next season’s Champions League, Rennes are strengthening their squad and are also in the market for a centre-back.
