Fenerbahce target Barcelona pair Todibo and Wague

Fenerbahce president Ali Koç is hoping to use his good relationship with Barcelona to land two of their youngsters, Mundo Deportivo reports.

The Istanbul giants are enduring a difficult season, far below their high standards. After 29 games they are sixth, 14 points behind leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.

Koç wants to take advantage of the ties to Barca with a double swoop for Jean-Clair Todibo and Moussa Wague.

Centre-back Todibo, 20, has returned from a half-season loan at Schalke and is on Everton’s radar.

Schalke had an option to buy Todibo for €25m, but despite some good performances, they passed.

21-year-old Wague was also enjoying good form on loan at Nice in Ligue 1, but his progress was cut short by the Coronavirus shutdown.

Nice had a chance to buy him at the end of the loan, but decided against using their €10m option.

That leaves Sodibo and Wague with uncertain futures, and Fenerbahce would like the two of them as part of a rebuild for next season.

Koç wants to regain Fenerbahce’s prestige and believes the Barcelona pair would be a step towards achieving that.
