The 23-year-old was in high demand in 2019 before a serious knee injury in November sidelined him.
Neres missed the remainder of Ajax’s games before the Coronavirus shutdown and hasn’t played since Ajax’s 4-4 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League.
Before his injury, the Ajax number seven was one of the club’s most highly valued players on the market.
Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan were among the prestigious clubs linked with the Brazilian.
And Globo reports that two firm offers arrived for Neres last year.
Mega-rich Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande made a €35m bid in January before Man United offered €60m in the middle of 2019.
Neres, who has a contract with the Dutch side until June 2023, turned down both proposals.
His former club, Sao Paulo, will receive 20 per cent of his next transfer fee from a sell-on clause.
Ajax were preparing for Neres’ departure last year and signed Quincy Promes, who scored 16 goals in his first season.
Neres joined Ajax at the beginning of 2017 and in his 119 appearances has scored 35 goals and delivered 34 assists.
His impressive performances in the Eredivisie and Champions League have also led to him winning four caps for Brazil.
