The Serie A club are in a poor financial state and face debts of €140m if they do not qualify for the Champions League.
Paulo Fonseca’s side are currently fifth, nine points behind Atalanta who occupy the final Champions League spot.
And Roma fear they may have to sacrifice 20-year-old midfielder Zaniolo in order to balance the books.
According to CdS, if an offer of €60m to €70m arrives for Zaniolo, Roma will be forced to consider it.
A month ago the capital club considered Zaniolo and his teammate Lorenzo Pellegrini unsellable.
However, with the Champions League and the riches it brings now looking unlikely, the situation has changed.
Roma would only consider cash offers for Zaniolo, especially as his former club Inter will receive 15% of any sale.
Kluivert was linked with a move to Arsenal but the Gunners never initiated any talks for the Dutch winger.
