Former West Ham striker Enner Valencia is close to returning to Europe with Galatasaray, according to reports in Mexico.
The 30-year-old announced his departure from Mexican side Tigres on social media yesterday, thanking the club.
And all signs point to him heading to Istanbul with Galatasaray. Major outlets such as FOX Sports and ESPN in Mexico are carrying the story.
This comes after Turkish journalist Ergin Kayioglu said talks were progressing well between the sides.
The Ecuador international made a high profile move to England in 2014 after a good World Cup, joining West Ham for €16m.
However, after a disappointing three years in the Premier League, including a loan spell at Everton, Valencia was sold to Tigres.
Valencia has spent three seasons at the Monterrey club, but has never hidden his desire to return to Europe.
With his contract now expiring, he appears set to fulfill that wish with Galatasaray in pole position.
