The 32-year-old could leave Barca this summer with the Catalan giants trying to raise funds for signings.
And Rakitic was reportedly proposed to PSG who are in the market for a new central midfielder.
Rakitic was ‘attracted’ by the idea of moving to Paris, but the interest was not reciprocated.
PSG weren’t keen on the idea and everything indicates that Rakitic will not be playing at the Parc des Princes next year.
Rakitic is under contract until June 2021, so this summer will be the last chance Barca have of getting a transfer fee for him.
The player himself revealed in May that he is relaxed about his contract situation.
“I’ve still got a contract, when I sign a contract, I always intend to fulfil it,” Rakitic told Sky Sport in Germany. “And if that cannot happen for any reason, then we’ll sit down together and talk about it.
“But for the moment, I am very happy here and I am thinking about other stuff.”
Since his €16m move from Sevilla six years ago, Rakitic has amassed 303 appearances for Barca, scoring 36 goals.
