Mayoral scored seven times in 24 appearances for Madrid in the 2017-18 season, before being loaned to Levante.
And after two good years at Levante, Mayoral could now be on his way to their local rivals Valencia.
Mayoral is out of contract in 2021 so Madrid must seek a permanent exit for their homegrown forward.
His contract situation together with the Coronavirus pandemic will mean that Los Blancos won’t demand a very high price.
Of course, they will look to include an option to buy back Mayoral, as he is still a player they value highly.
Valencia have contacted Madrid in the past to express their interest in Mayoral, a former Spain under-21 international.
The two clubs have a positive relationship and there is a good chance they will reach an agreement.
Mayoral still dreams of one day being Madrid’s number nine and AS states that his parent club are ‘satisified in every way’ with him.
Valencia and Levante are not the only sides in the Valencian community to admire Mayoral.
Villarreal also want him, but at the moment Valencia are the most likely to win the race.
Levante will also ‘fight until the end’ to keep Mayoral after two successful seasons at the Ciutat de Valencia.
