The highly-rated goalkeeper arrives from Colombian side Millonarios where he has played since 2018.
Lens have the chance to sign 22-year-old Farinez on a permanent deal next summer.
He will start as back-up goalkeeper to Jean-Louis Leca while he adapts to life in France.
After rising through the ranks at Caracas, Farinez joined Millonarios on the first day of 2018.
He has made 91 appearances for Millonarios and has now gained enough experience to make the jump to Europe.
A regular in the Venezuela national team, Farinez featured in last year’s Copa America, keeping clean sheets against Peru and Brazil.
Having finished second in Ligue 2 this season, Lens are back in France’s top flight.
