Milan eye Bundesliga trio Upamecano, Rashica & Schick

AC Milan are considering three players based in the Bundesliga for Ralf Rangnick’s overhaul, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

Rangnick’s arrival should be made official by the Rossoneri when the season ends, with changes to the Milan squad expected.

The German likes to sign high-quality young players and it is no coincidence that many hot prospects have been linked with Milan.

Di Marzio names three well-known players who have performed well in the Bundesliga this season and are on Milan’s radar.

Milot Rashica

Kosovan winger Milot Rashica, 23, of Werder Bremen is a player being considered to strengthen the attack.

Rashica has seven goals and five assists in the Bundesliga this season and may be available at a discount.

If struggling Werder are relegated to the second division, Rashica’s release clause drops to a reasonable €16m.

Napoli and several Bundesliga clubs, notably RB Leipzig, are also interested in the forward.

Dayot Upamecano

A player Rangnick knows well from his time working for Red Bull clubs is RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.

The 21-year-old is one of Europe’s most highly-rated young centre-backs and could be on the move this summer.

Upamecano has refused to extend his Leipzig contract and if he continues to do so, will be sold.

Milan would face competition for the French under-21 international, with Arsenal among the interested parties.

Patrik Schick

The final player Di Marzio says Milan are thinking about is Patrik Schick, who is owned by Serie A rivals Roma.

After impressing at Sampdoria, the Czech striker joined Roma in a record deal worth €42m.

But after two seasons in the Italian capital, Schick had only scored five league goals and was loaned to RB Leipzig.

Schick has found his feet again in Germany with ten goals this season, leading to interest from Everton and Newcastle.

With Leipzig not using their €29m option to buy Schick, Milan are attentive and could move for him when Rangnick arrives.
