Ferreira is a 19-year-old right-back with great potential, and plays for Benfica’s second team.
Despite not yet debuting for Benfica’s first team, Ferreira is a player the Lisbon club have high hopes for.
Leverkusen have been keeping an eye on Ferreira for some time and are now getting serious.
According to O JOGO, the Bundesliga side will send a representative to Portugal this week to meet with Ferreira’s agent.
Benfica will be looking at a transfer fee of around €10m for the young full-back.
Juventus came close to signing Ferreira last summer in a deal that could involved goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
But nothing materialised and the Portugal U-19 international remained with his boyhood club.
Leverkusen will try to succeed where Juventus failed last year by striking a deal for Ferreira in the coming weeks.
Ferreira has made 18 appearances in Liga Pro this season with a return of one goal and one assist.
