Juventus have resisted every other offer of a Barcelona player, insisting on Brazil midfielder Arthur.
However, Arthur made it clear that he didn’t want to leave Camp Nou, seemingly shutting the door on any deal.
The Italians have continued to press for 23-year-old Arthur and have made good progress, Di Marzio reports.
Arthur has been offered a tempting €5m-per-season salary by Juventus, two-and-a-half times more than he earns at Barca.
Juventus’ insistence and respect for Arthur seem to be convincing him to swap Catalonia for Turin.
In Barcelona’s 0-0 draw against Sevilla on Friday, Arthur did not start the game, perhaps a signal.
The position of Pjanic, 30, is clear – he is keen to join Barcelona after nine seasons in Serie A with Juve and Roma.
Arthur worth more than Pjanic
Even if Arthur gives his final ‘yes’, the clubs have to agree on the figures of the swap deal.
Barcelona are trying to avoid spending much money ahead of next season, relying on trade deals.
However, Arthur is valued at €80m and Pjanic at €70m, meaning Barcelona may have to cough up €10m in cash.
Despite being less proven than Pjanic, Arthur is years younger and that has an effect on their valuations.
The clubs need to strike a deal by June 30 for budgetary reasons or else it could be called off.
Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is in constant dialogue with Arthur, trying to fully convince him of the move.
