Official: Jô returns to boyhood side Corinthians

Former Brazil striker has returned to his boyhood side Corinthians, the Brazilian club have announced.

The 33-year-old agreed the final details of his contract on Tuesday, a deal that will keep him with the Timão until December 31, 2023.

It will be Jô’s third spell at Corinthians, who he was originally with from 1994 until 2003.

Jô returned in 2017, scoring 25 goals before heading to Nagoya Grampus in the J-League.

The former Manchester City and CSKA Moscow player arrives on a free transfer after leaving Japan.

Despite offers from clubs in the United Arab Emirates, Jô decided to return to where it all began for him.

Jô will replace Vagner Love who recently left Corinthians and was expected to rejoin CSKA Moscow.

However, Love’s to Russia is now in doubt and he could instead return to Turkey.
