Former Schalke star Benedikt Howedes to quit Lokomotiv

World Cup 2014 winner Benedikt Howedes is set to rip up his contract with Lokomotiv Moscow, according to BILD.

The 32-year-old, who made a name for himself at Schalke, was troubled by the uncertainty resulting from the Coronavirus.

And he has asked the Russian club to rescind his contract, which was due to run until 2021.

Howedes joined Lokomotiv from Schalke in 2018 following a year on loan with Juventus, where he won the Serie A title.
