Chile international Mauricio Isla has never played professionally in South America – but that could be about to change.
The 31-year-old right-back is out of contract with Fenerbahce on June 30 and will leave the Turks after three seasons.
According to TyC Sports, Isla is closer to joining Argentine side Boca than Universidad de Chile in his homeland.
Isla has already held talks with Juan Román Riquelme and Boca have offered him a two-year deal.
The idea of playing for the Xeneizes appeals to Isla and would allow him to be close to his family – just two hours away.
Although they trail Boca in the race for Isla, Universidad de Chile still have an offer on the table.
Because he is currently in quarantine due to the Coronavirus, 115-cap Chile international Isla may delay a decision.
However, as things stand Boca Juniors are in pole position to sign the decorated veteran.
